Yousra Gomaa

Hello!

My name is Yousra Gomaa, and I am a midwifery student at Toronto Metropolitan University. I am originally from Egypt and moved to T’karonto in 2021. Before starting my midwifery journey, I worked as an architectural engineer specializing in construction law.

I have always been deeply interested in reproductive health, often encouraging my friends to engage as much as they felt comfortable in their pregnancy and birth experiences. Attending the birth of my niece was a transformative moment, as I witnessed firsthand the importance and privilege of being a birth worker and the profound impact it can have on individuals and families. My passion lies in providing culturally safe care while promoting bodily autonomy and empowerment during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I am excited to be starting my FUN I placement this semester at SGMT and my FUN II there as well during the spring semester.

In my free time, I enjoy baking and exploring all things coffee.
