Kerrie Franklin

Hello! My name is Kerrie Franklin (she/her), and I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to do my student placement at SGMT for Winter and Summer of 2026. 

I am a settler with Swiss, Scottish, and English heritage. I was born in Banff Alberta, and raised in Calgary. I moved to Vancouver in 2011 to attend the University of British Columbia where I completed my Bachelor of Sciences, minoring in Art History. 

The birth of my nephew in 2023 helped inspire me to apply to the Midwifery Education Program at Toronto Metropolitan University where I am now in my second year. I feel privileged to be pursuing a career that can have such a meaningful impact on individuals, families, and communities, and I am eager to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow as a student midwife.
