Kathleen Babe, Midwife

Hi, my name is Kathleen.

I came to midwifery after being inspired by my own journey under midwifery care. I had previously studied arts and science, and furniture making, and had done woodworking for a small workshop. I grew up in Toronto, and have mostly Scottish, as well as some Irish heritage.

I graduated from the Ryerson Midwifery Programme on the Dean’s list in 2010, and have been honoured to work with the SGMT team since 2011. I am inspired to work with a team of midwives who provide clinically excellent and culturally safe care for Indigenous families, and who respect the sacredness of birth. In my work, I seek to support the growth of Indigenous Midwifery in any way I can.

Miigwetch to all who support me on this journey, especially the families in my care.
